Sealed Road
A Sealed Road is a road surfaced with bitumen, emoleum, asphalt, chip seal, concrete or clay segmented pavers.
A sealed road is typically more expensive to construct than an unsealed road, but sealed roads have a number of advantages over unsealed roads including:
- Dust Suppression
- A more comfortable ride for motorists & cyclists
- Trafficability in wet weather.
- The exclusion of water from the road pavement
In Australia and many other countries the great majority of urban roads, and most highly trafficked rural roads are sealed roads.
